Being in my third year of study at Toronto Metropolitan University's School of Interior Design, I am exploring my passion and dedication for creating memorable and enriching environments and turning spaces into experiences. I have felt a connection to interior design for as long as I can remember, always admiring or observing the spaces that hold me, and now trying to emulate the feelings that have stuck with me, hoping to bring this experience to others.
My creative journey began in the visual arts which taught me how to approach the world with a more creative eye, something that I have now brought into my studies in interior design. As a diligent and passionate designer, I aim to explore new and exciting spatial conditions and experiences through this lens of creativity. This background has also allowed me to explore innovative and creative approaches in visual communication, allowing me to more effectively communicate my ideas. Having a previous understanding of the fundamentals of art and design has allowed me to take the initiative to push my own boundaries and explore new areas in my post-secondary studies.
When I am not designing, I love to explore other creative hobbies such as crocheting and drawing. Drawing was my first endeavor into the creative world, and is something that has stuck with me, making its way into my design process. I learn and iterate best through hand-sketching techniques which allow me to better understand what I am working through, as well as quickly communicate my ideas if needed. Through crocheting I love to challenge myself and learn through observation. If there is a design or technique that is particularly unique, I use my existing knowledge and skills to mimic the design I am trying to achieve, and learning new techniques in the process.
